Some are on the street corner with a tin can,
Some are on stage with a 20-piece band,
Some have gone to that great Open Mic in the sky.
These are my people, too.
We are the Rock 'N' Roll Nation.
This is a celebration of Rock 'N' Roll in it's most basic form: Just guitars, bass, drums & occasional keys & harmonica. It celebrates the Rock 'N' Roll lifestyle: Life, Love, Fear, Rejection, Victory, Spirituality, Freedom, Scandal, the whole gamut of emotions. Some songs will strike people a negative. Others as joyous and a great party. The point is, these songs are what I was feeling when I wrote them. Sans the covers, of course. Join the Rock 'N' Roll Nation and pledge allegiance to The Rock~!
released August 18, 2012
All songs were written by Kevin Wayne.
Except: “Blue Shoes White” was written by Larry Norman. “Where Have All The Good Times Gone” was of course, written by Ray Davies. You can't beat that for Spiritual Ancestry if you ask me.
All vocals, guitars, synth, bass, harmonica & percussion performed by Kevin Wayne.
Except: Nigel Cuff of Nigel Cuff Music did the bass & drums on “Rock Me? Rock You!” Kevin Hahn of Opal Studios in Portland, OR played bass on “Do It Again.” Jon E. Dymon was on the crowd sing-a-long on “Tryin To Get Along.” The fiddle on "Like the True Love Does" and the Sax on "Tryin' To Get Along" were loops I found on Mixcraft. The music was all put together in Reaper.
Oh, and lest I forget: Production consultants were LeJaz and Barking At The Aunts. LeJaz gave me a couple of loops for fiddle that I used on "Rock N Roll Is Going Country." Barking At The Aunts also took the screen shot for this album cover design. Look all these guys up online sometime!
